Yogyakarta, April 21, 2025 — The Law Science Study Program of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Law, and Political Science at Yogyakarta State University (FISHIPOL UNY) held a strategic discussion titled “Discussion on the Implementation of Collaboration with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Kanwil Kemenkumham DIY).” This activity was carried out as a follow-up effort to strengthen synergy between higher education institutions and government agencies in the field of law.
The event took place in the leadership meeting room of FISHIPOL UNY. During the discussion, various forms of collaboration implementation were explored in depth, ranging from practitioner-teaching programs and the enhancement of legal services for the campus community, to facilitating access to intellectual property registration services. In his remarks, the Coordinator of the Law Science Study Program emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and legal practitioners to equip students with real-world experience and insight. “We hope that the involvement of practitioners from the Kanwil Kemenkumham DIY in academic activities will strengthen the curriculum and bring students closer to the dynamic realities of the legal field,” he stated.
Representatives from the Kanwil Kemenkumham DIY also welcomed the planned implementation of the collaboration. “We are ready to support this initiative through guest lectures, the provision of legal services on campus, and by opening access for students to be directly involved in the processes of intellectual property registration and protection.” This discussion also marked the commitment of the Law Science Study Program of FISHIPOL UNY to expand its partnership network in order to achieve legal education that is responsive to societal needs and contemporary developments. With a spirit of collaboration, this activity is expected to be the beginning of concrete programs that benefit students, the institution, and the wider community in strengthening legal awareness and protecting intellectual property rights.
